Balcony solar panels — power from the railing
The fastest-growing solar market in Europe is a railing. Lightweight glass modules hung vertically on the balcony turn a rented flat into a power plant — the panel is the part we build, cut to your railing width.
We build the panel side for balcony-kit sellers, distributors and housing companies: glass-glass modules light enough to hang, with hooks that clamp over the railing instead of drilling into the building, and leads laid out for the micro-inverter and the socket your market uses.
- Glass-glass, lightweight
- Vertical railing mount
- All-black option
- Plug-in leads

What actually matters on a balcony
| Weight | Railings are load-rated — the glass-glass build is specified light enough to hang, not to lean |
|---|---|
| Fixing | Adjustable hooks over the railing profile; nothing touches the building slab |
| Wind | An open railing sees gusts from both sides — the module and its hooks are rated for it |
| Looks | All-black cells and frame where the panel is visible from the street |
| Electrical | Lead length and connectors laid out for your micro-inverter position and socket type |
| Power class | The module side is configured to the plug-in class your market allows — Germany's is the most copied; others differ |
Registration rules and inverter classes differ by country — confirmed per market at quotation, not on the website.
What we need to quote
Everything specific to your railing is settled by email or at the factory — the website only carries the standard ranges.
- Railing width and height, or a photo with a measure in frame
- Vertical, tilted or hung-over arrangement
- Look: all-black, bifacial, or standard silver frame
- Destination country, for the plug-in class and certificates that apply
- Quantity — one balcony, or a distributor series
For balcony-kit sellers
The module is cut to your standard railing size, carries your label, and ships with your artwork on the packaging. Series quantities are quoted at the line price with the producing factory named before you commit.
If a lighter laminate or a different cell format fills your railing better, that is what we quote — we are not tied to one line.
Questions balcony sellers ask
Do you supply complete plug-in balcony sets?
The panel is our product — module, leads and connector layout. Whether the micro-inverter, mounting hooks and cable ship in the same carton depends on the project and the market; tell us the scope and we quote what the factories behind SunFold can cover, with each factory named.
Can the modules hang on the railing without drilling?
Yes — the usual fixing is adjustable hooks that clamp over the railing profile, no contact with the building. Send a photo of the railing and the profile width, and the mounting is specified to match.
Does a vertical panel lose much yield?
A vertical mount shifts production towards morning and evening instead of midday, and sheds snow and dirt on its own. The cell layout is sized for the power class your market allows, so the system lands where it should.
Are all-black modules available?
Yes — all-black cells and a black frame are a common choice for facades and railings where the panel is visible from the street. Bifacial glass-glass builds are quoted as well.
Can we visit the factory before a series order?
Yes, anytime. Tell us your travel dates and we arrange the plant tour and an engineers' meeting in one visit — you walk the exact line that would run your modules.
Send the railing width, get a module layout
One photo of the railing with the width measured is enough to start. A module layout, the factory behind it and a line price come back by email — and you are welcome to walk the line before you commit. Factory visits welcome anytime.
