Solar panels for street lights — built around the pole

A solar street light lives or dies by its panel. It has to match the lamp load, the battery autonomy and the pole itself — a rigid module on a bracket, or a laminate wrapped to the tube below the lamp arm.

We build the panel side for lamp makers, contractors and municipalities: the cell layout is sized to the nightly run hours and the site's sun conditions, the mounting is specified for the pole, and the cable entry is positioned for the gland you already use. Non-standard sizes are the norm — most street light projects do not fit a stock module.

  • Rigid glass on bracket
  • Laminate wrapped to pole
  • 12 V / 24 V
  • Controller-matched

What actually matters on a pole

Lamp loadThe panel is sized to the nightly run hours and the dimming profile — not to whatever fits on top
AutonomyOvercast-day reserve is designed in together with your battery and controller spec
WindBracket or full-surface bond, specified for the pole diameter and the site's wind zone
Sun angleBracket tilt set to the site latitude; a vertical wrap trades angle for simplicity and is sized up to compensate
Cable entryJunction box position and lead length set to clear the gland already on the pole
WeatheringGlass or ETFE front, sealed junction, specified for years of sun, rain and pollen

Run hours, autonomy and wind zone are settled per project — by email or at the factory, not on the website.

In the field

Above: a solar street light going up — lamp arm on top, panel tube below, one cable run down the pole. The same panel side serves area lighting, garden and pathway lights, and signage.

For lamp makers: the panel is supplied to your luminaire drawing under your brand, with the producing factory named before you commit.

What we need to quote

Everything specific to the site is settled by email or at the factory — the website only carries the standard ranges.

  • Lamp wattage and the nightly run hours (with dimming profile if any)
  • Site location, for the sun hours we size against
  • Pole top diameter and a photo, or the bracket drawing
  • Battery and controller spec, if the panel should be matched to them
  • Quantity and destination market

Why lamp makers start here

Because the panel rarely fits a stock module. We work from your luminaire drawing, match the build to the factory that runs that cell layout, and quote at the line price — the factory is named before you commit.

If a smaller cell format or a different lamination is the better answer for your pole, that is what we quote. There is no line of our own to fill.

Questions street light buyers ask

Do you supply complete street lights or only the panels?

The panel is our product — module, wrap, bracket layout, cable and controller matching. What else ships in the kit depends on the project scope; tell us what you need and we quote what the factories behind SunFold can cover, with each factory named.

Can the panel wrap around a round pole?

Yes. Flexible laminates can be bonded around the tube below the lamp arm. Send the pole diameter and a photo, and we confirm the wrap layout and the wattage it gives by email — the specifics are settled against the pole drawing, not on the website.

How do you handle wind load?

The mounting is specified for the pole diameter and the site's wind zone — a bracket for rigid modules, a full-surface bond for wraps. Tell us the location and we confirm the fixing before quotation.

Which certificates do street lighting panels carry?

Standard-range modules carry CE. Other destination marks are arranged against the market the lights are installed in — tell us the country and we confirm what the producing line can supply.

Can we visit the factory before a series order?

Yes, anytime. Tell us your travel dates and we arrange the plant tour and an engineers' meeting in one visit — you walk the exact line that would run your panels.

Send the lamp spec, get a panel layout

Tell us the lamp wattage, the run hours and the site. A panel layout, the factory behind it and a line price come back by email — and you are welcome to walk the line before you commit. Factory visits welcome anytime.
